The Challenge:

Based in Oslo and backed by high-profile investors, our client is on a mission to simplify and modernize payments, both online and in-store. With more than 150% growth in recent months and a dedicated team of 20+ employees (half of whom are engineers), this is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic scale-up with serious momentum.

We are now looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to take ownership of the company’s core technical platforms and lead the engineering organization through its next phase of growth. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about payments, innovation, and scaling technical teams.


What You’ll Do:

As Head of Engineering, you will lead our client’s technical organization, owning the architecture, development, and scalability of our payment platform. You’ll drive the engineering roadmap, mentor team leads, and ensure we deliver secure, high-quality products at speed. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and Support to align technology with business goals, while fostering a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and customer value.


Tech Stack:

  • Node.js & TypeScript, GO, Python, Java.

  • AWS (Fargate, Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora).

  • Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation), Docker, Kubernetes

  • Microservices Architecture

  • PCI DSS; PSD2; GDPR.


Your Background:

  • You bring at least 5 years of experience in engineering leadership, ideally within fintech, SaaS, or payment platforms.

  • You have a strong technical foundation in scalable systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), and hands-on familiarity with modern backend technologies such as Node.js, Go, Python, or Java.

  • You're confident with microservices, APIs, Docker/Kubernetes, and data architecture.

  • Beyond your technical skills, you’re a natural leader with a track record of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing teams in agile environments.
